Autumn has finally arrived, school has started and holidays are somewhat of a long lost memory but one thing we can look forward to is all the new fall makeup trends we can try.
Now that most of us are back at work or school we’ll all want a season appropriate makeup look to wear be it for a daytime activity or an evening party. Below, I have demonstrated how to take a daytime fall look and turn it into evening makeup.
Much like during the summer season, fall brings it’s own originality in style and beauty. Autumn/Winter catwalk trends for 2014 show that eyes and lips are the main aspects this season. Softly smoked out eyes are a great way to bring some depth and colour into your daytime makeup. Burberry does this the perfect way on their Autumn/Winter catwalk using a soft taupe as their base shade. Here I have used a combination of Tom Ford’s She Wolf palette and Smashbox Full Exposure to create a really subtle taupe eye which I have matched with a super nude lip and sheer skin base. This would be an ideal makeup look for a day at the office or even for those of you who like to add a touch of glamour at college or university.
My favourite part about the fall makeup is how strong you can go during the evening. Taking inspiration from Matthew Williamson’s catwalk makeup for Autumn/Winter I have added to the soft taupe eyes and gone with a deep plum red on the lips. I really played up the 70’s makeup theme by also adding dark black kohl pencil on the waterline of the eyes. This is a great way to take your day makeup into the evening without adding too much to it. It’s always handy to keep an evening lipstick and a dark eyeliner in your purse so you’re covered for last minute plans.
So there you have it! It can really be that easy to recreate your makeup in little time and minimum products to hand. The autumn season is finally here so it’s time to start bringing out your plums and wine shades ladies you’ll be surprised the difference a bit of lipstick will make!
