The 24th annual Miss India-Canada event will be taking place on Saturday, August 16 in Toronto at the International Plaza Hotel. Every year the Miss India-Canada Competition brings together talented young women to compete for the title prize and to celebrate their cultural heritage.

Though the evening is marked by glitz and glam, it is by no means a simple beauty pageant. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their unique talents, style and public speaking abilities at an event regularly graced by top Bollywood and Hollywood personalities. Through this platform, and the networking opportunities it provides, young South Asian women have been empowered to achieve their personal, professional and philanthropic goals for over two decades. 

Natasha Balakrishnan, a member of Broken Dance amongst her many pursuits, will be participating in this competition. This year she is the only Tamil contestant. Natasha aspires to be a successful lawyer and to one day open up her own dance studio to share her love of dance with others.
