A saree blouse is the gateway to imagination! Sarees are becoming more and more popular, even with non-South Asians. To me, the best part of the saree is how creative you can get with your blouse. I’ve listed a few of the best blouses I have seen in 2014. Hopefully you can test them out on New Year’s Eve or in the New Year!
The back (and front) of this beaded blouse is an absolute delight! The saree in general is a simplistic design, with the heavy palu, borders and light fabric, however the drama happens in the cut-out blouse. The front drop cut neckline is definitely a different approach than your regular sweet heart or square neckline; and when you turn around, even more flare!
Beads galore! This blouse is something out of this world, and was seen at the Lakme Summer/Resort show and designed by Koecsh Vik. With a lot of sticky tape to keep up the blouse in the front, this added beaded addition to the blouse gives that wow factor. You can customize this style to your own taste; perhaps add straps onto the blouse and even some beading! This is a creative design that can be customized in many ways.
This blouse was designed by Tarun Tahiliani and seen at IBFW14 . Glittery soft gold with drop sleeves – how rustic and romantic!
This blouse was designed by Anju Modi and was seen at the Lakme Fashion Week 2014. Lace and long sleeves were a big hit this year- leading to a bit of romance and regal look!
Designed by Ashdeen Show and seen at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014 – it is only appropriate to add a little Asian flare to your blouse to accompany this beautiful fire red printed saree!
This backless blouse was designed by Priyal Prakash; the gorgeous brocade fabric blouse has a high neckline, which leads you to a wonderful drop. Pair it with a mid-high bun hair style to show off that back!
And there you have it! A few of the many beautiful blouses of 2014. Try designing your blouses to add your own creativity to an old saree or new!
