CREATIVE ARTS LISTINGS:

Do you have a passion for journalism, photography, creative design or media production? Are you seeking relevant experience in one of these fields or just have a passion for them?

TamilCulture is offering writing, photography, creative design and media production internships all year round. All of the internships can be done while either in school or working. Our goal is to give emerging writers, photographers, graphic designers and media producers the experience and opportunity to do what they love! An internship withTamilCulture is an amazing opportunity to not only gain experience and knowledge in the magazine industry, but also to build your professional network. Information on the positions are listed below.

WRITING INTERNSHIPS

TamilCulture’s interns are actively involved with the editors in brainstorming and generating ideas for new articles. Candidates applying for TamilCulture’s writing internship program should have a keen interest in the Tamil community, be organized and detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills. In addition to meeting their deadlines, interns are required to regularly keep in contact with TamilCulture’s editors, who will mentor successful applicants over the course of their term.

PHOTOGRAPHY INTERNSHIPS

TamilCulture is looking for aspiring photographers interested in building their portfolio. The main objective of this internship is to give an opportunity for up-and-coming photographers to gain experience shooting for an exciting, fast-paced publication. Candidates applying for TamilCulture’s photography internship program should have a strong portfolio demonstrating their work (i.e. high end fashion, documentary photography, etc.) and skill sets (i.e. the use of lighting, angles, etc.)

CREATIVE DESIGN INTERNSHIPS

TamilCulture’s creative design internship is an excellent opportunity for emerging graphic designers to gain firsthand experience in the online publication industry. Successful applicants will gain a wealth of experience and knowledge designing logos, website layouts, etc. Interns will play a role in designing the layout of the online pages and photographic concepts. Candidates applying for TamilCulture’s creative design internship program must be current students in a creative design program or a recent design graduate. They should be extremely knowledgeable and fluent in In Design, Photoshop and Illustrator and have a passion for magazines.

MEDIA PRODUCTION INTERNSHIPS

TamilCulture’s media production internships are an excellent opportunity for emerging videographers, video editors and production assistants to gain firsthand experience in media production within the online publication industry. Successful applicants will gain a wealth of experience and knowledge through the firsthand participation in the planning, shooting and editing of video content for TC TV!. Candidates to TamilCulture’s media production internship must be current students in a media production program or a recent media production graduate with the exception of production assistants. Production assistants should have an interest in media production and be flexible with the work they are to complete on-set.
