Fall 2012 Makeup Trends

fall

Fall fashion is officially back and of course with the new clothing line comes new makeup looks! Take a look at these fall looks that were inspired by the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Dark maroon lips are the new red for this years fall fashion look and this look is wearable for both day and night. The key to wearing this shade of lipstick is to make sure the rest of your make-up is natural because your lip colour is what you want to be the highlight this look.

From dark lips to light, both these looks are in this fall and Emma Watson pulls of the nude lips with absolute elegance. We often run into an issue with the nude lip look, because a lot of the products in the makeup industry that are titled ‘nude’ are way to light for our olive/dark skin tones. The important thing is to find a lip colour that matches your own skin tone and this would become your nude lip colour! The nude lip look is a very refreshing look that we have seen in both the spring and summer. A great way to turn this look into a fall look is to use a slightly darker shade of blush to give you a nice rosy cheek.

It is time to embrace your natural (or close to) eyebrows, because the well-groomed and thicker eyebrow has been all over the catwalk this fall! The Real Colors brow shadow in Ebony is great for darker eyebrows; apply with an angled brush to your eyebrows and then apply a brow gel to set the colour and your brows in place. Both the brow shadow and the brow gel are fantastic products to own because it gives you a fuller eye brow look and they really make your brows look clean and shaped; a real life saver when your eyebrows aren’t quite as groomed as you’d like.

Nails, nails, nails! Like our bright red hipster pants and peachy spring trousers, the flirty coloured nails are out the door and in comes the darker, royal, and richer nail colours. Indigo and royal blues were all over the catwalk this September and they ranged from matte colours, shimmers and metallic! However it doesn’t have to stop at blue; try a deep merlot or even mustard yellow!

This fall try experimenting with your cosmetics by trying deeper and richer colours. Remember these colours are bold; so keep the rest of your makeup as natural as you can to emphasis on those beautiful colours!
